Jiayan Zhao

Jiayan Zhao is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Emerging Analytics Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He received his bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering (2014) from Central South University, PRC, and an MA in Geography (GIScience) (2016) from the State University of New York at Albany. He holds a Ph.D. (2020) from the Pennsylvania State University for his research on spatial learning in virtual environments under Alexander Klippel. He is broadly interested in immersive technologies and their application in spatial cognition, wayfinding, earth science data visualization, and place-based education.
