Donaghey Athletic Center


Formerly known as the Trojan Fieldhouse, the Donaghey Athletic Center was one of the original athletic facilities constructed in 1969. It is located inside the Donaghey Student Center, which houses coaching offices and meeting space, locker room and training facilities, and support services for the Trojan swimming and diving, soccer, golf, track and field/cross country programs. It also houses the Donaghey Aquatic Center, the home pool for the Little Rock Swimming and Diving Team.

The Donaghey Aquatic Center is the home of the Little Rock Swimming and Diving Team, and it is located inside the Donaghey Athetic Center. Completed in 1993, is one of the finest swimming facilities in Arkansas, The aquatic center also meets specifications required by the FINA, U.S Swimming, and the NCAA for competitive swimming, diving, and water polo.

Usually used for any kind of team activity. Student-athletes will also be able to use this room as an option to UALR Library or Jack Stephens Center to complete their study hall hours. Freshmen are mandatory to complete atleast 6 hours of study hall every week in their first semester. Student-athletes will not be required to do study hall if they can maintain above 3.0 GPA for every semester.

1. Pool
An Olympic-sized swimming pool of 50 meter by 25 yard with capacity of 750,000 gallons and 12,600 square-feet water surface area. The teamperature has a standard pool temperature which is 82F (28C).
2. Bulkhead
The removable bulkhead is to accomodate multiple venues for competitive swimming events, diving, waterpolo, and recreation.
3. Springboard Diving Platform
The 2x1 meter boards on concrete short blocks and 2x3 meter board on concrete platfforms.
4. Electronic Timing System
Two swimming of four multi-sport computers, two electronic starting systems, one 12-line scoreboard, and 16 touchpads.

The scoreboard is dedicated in honor of Coach John Torbett, the head coach of Little Rock Swimming and Diving Team from 1969 until 1984. It's cost was made possible by generous donations from Little Rock Swimming and Diving alumni as well as friends and supporters in the Little Rock swimming community.

This scoreboard serves to keep track of the all-around scores for each sports program. The team that has the most volunteering hours will get the Trojan Cup by the end of the season.
